Hello, My name is Aidan Stafford Chesemore and I am a CSU Alumni, writer, filmmaker, and photographer, living in Colorado Springs. I have been writing poetry since I was in fifth grade and have fallen in love with all forms of storytelling ever since.

While I wouldn't consider most of my content to be religious, my faith has been a huge influence on the stories that I tell. Below you'll find some of the various projects I have done:

Art was done by Animal Companion Co-Creator Benjamin Bryer

Animal Companion is a webtoon series that Benjamin Bryer and I have been working on since the fall of 2021. The anthology series is meant to explore the lives of various animal duos as they navigate the wonderful world around us. Sweet with a dash of poignant, Animal Companion is made for those wishing for wholesome content that explores hardship and community.

Still from: Folds

My short films: Folds, Rising Sunset, and Nine to Night were filmed and performed entirely by me on a $0.00 budget with help from Christmas gifts and wall adhesives. My hope is that they can serve as comfort for audiences as well as inspiration for filmmakers like me who operate on such a small budget.

And then there is the weekly poetry that I upload to my Instagram. I have been consistently posting poetry once every Monday for over four years now and it has helped me learn so much about the medium of poetry as well as photography and digital art. I am so grateful to have a platform to share my art and I am also so thankful to everyone that has stuck with me as I've written. I never thought that poetry would become the medium I utilized most but it has, nonetheless, become my main artistic outlet.

The Eclipse and the Boy was my first passion project. Written in six months with over two years of editing, I finally decided to self-publish my first book. This horror novella isn't made for anyone too squeamish and it challenges its characters both physically and psychologically as they navigate mysteries that plague the Swallow family.

Synopsis:

5-year-old Oliver is determined not to cry. While his father is weeping behind closed doors and his mother is trying to keep the family afloat, Oliver is attempting to keep himself in control while discussing his problems with his grandmother who lives in the strange new vase on the bookcase. However, everything becomes complicated when moths begin to leave dust prints on windows, a strange neighbor moves in across the street and Oliver’s father finds a microphone under his son’s bed.

"Soup and Everything" was originally designed to be a fairly small project that would teach me how to add images to my books. However, the project expanded and has become, in my opinion, my best work to date. The poems vary in style and concept while all being connected under this shared value and overarching narrative. It's certainly not traditional, but then again, what poetry is?

Description:

"Be inspired by something, anything, everything."

Soup and Everything
is an exploration of the beauty and inherent value in everything from ordinary objects like crumbs and dust to grand images of God and the Universe. Told in two parts, this collection of poetry and digital drawings takes new perspectives on familiar concepts by putting the biggest and smallest of objects on the same playing field and encouraging you to be inspired by anything.
